In July 2018, BCU once again received international students from the co-constructed San Marino Confucius Institute, cooperative Mexico school and cooperative Danish school, amounting to 63 international students altogether.
Since 2015, BCU has continued receiving nearly 100 international students from various cooperative school in different countries. This summer, BCU especially arranged diversified modules for the international students, including Intangible Cultural Heritage cultural workshop, TCM experiential activities, Chinese-learning class, local enterprises visit, historical sites tour, etc. Through this 2-3 week summer camp, the international students will get the chance to experience the charm of Chinese culture.
“I’m majoring in International Finance in my undergraduate study, and through the activities we’ve experienced in BCU, i know much more about Chinese culture and its commerce operation, which helps my study a lot.” Louis, a Mexican student said.
“During the time in BCU’s International Summer Camp, i came to know more about Beijing. Also, i went for lots of Chinese tourist attractions, and enjoyed Chinese cuisine a lot! I gained a lot, indeed.” Nina, a student from San Marino Confucius Institute told us.
One of the Mexican student David expressed his love for the summer camp. “The BCU summer camp is amazing! I learned so much about Chinese culture, and i also learned Calligraphy and Chinese Painting, which are something i’ve never experienced before. I just love this place!”
Through this summer camp, the international students gained a better view on Chinese culture. Meanwhile, the BCU students assistants from English and Spanish major has broadened their horizons as well as enhanced their language proficiency.
