The Opening Ceremony for 2015 BCU Academic Year was held in the Great Hall of the People

On September 22nd, Beijing City University held the Opening Ceremony for the 2015 Academic Year in the Great Hall of the People. More than 50 institute representatives from industry-academy cooperation such as Shunyi District Government, Chinese Ballad Singers Association, China Railway Construction Group, China Industrial Design Association, Beijing Ershang Group, BeijingArts and Crafts Group, Beijing Construction Engineering Group, Tongrentang Group, Beijing Metro Group, Beijing Automotive Group, Hualian Group, Lenovo Group, Yangzhou Arts and Crafts Group, United Family Healthcare, the Capital Institute of Pediatrics, Rehabilitation Hospital of Peking University, Alibaba, China Guangfa Bank, China CITIC Bank, Shanghai Pudong Development Bank, Beijing Urban Construction Survey Design and Research Institute, China Tianjin Human Resource Development Service Center, Beijing Foreign Enterprise Service Group , Beijing City Human Resources Service Industry Association and the ambassadors, counselors and embassy officials of cooperative countries such as Columbia, Canada, Mexico, Spain, Denmark, South Korea were invited to attend the ceremony.

President Liu Lin pointed out that, on the occasion of 2015 freshmen entrance, BCU is in the period of the fastest growth in history. It is a new historical starting point for improving Beijing City University to an excellent high-level university, which is the expectation of all alumni, students and teachers in BCU.

Columbia's ambassador to China Carmensa Jaramillo delivered a speech on the ceremony. She said that since the establishment in 1984, BCU has developed the unique idea of running school which is creative and opening the door to the world with international perspective and flexible management. BCU has cultivated a large amount of excellent students and met the needs of social development. BCU has cultivated students with great professional ability and high quality not only for China but also for the world. For example, there are graduates and interns from BCU in the Embassy of Columbia to China. What is more, there are also lots of BCU alumni in other embassies.

The BCU graduate of 2005, Ma Xiaoshen, who is also a representative of new teachers in 2015, gave a speech at the ceremony. She reviewed her own four years of learning times in BCU, and shared the growth process through the training and learning during school time as well as hardworking after graduation. And then she was named "China's top ten design industry outstanding youth", "Beijing Arts and Crafts Master" and has repeatedly won the "China Industrial Design Red Star Award", "China tourism commodity competition gold award", which encouraged students to stick to the dream, and to dare to innovate.

President of student Union and student representative of BCU Wei Xueyan and 2015 freshmen representative Liang Jingyi spoke at the ceremony respectively.

Finally, the ceremony successfully ended in the loud singing of the motherland song .
