As a modern, practice-oriented institute of higher education, the University conducts applied research work with a high level of commitment. BCU attaches great importance to research and advocates the premise that teaching and research should complement each other. The University faculty members perform a vast range of research activities on various levels. In addition, a high quality and multi-disciplinary research team has been established with its core members all having graduate degrees.
With regard to research, our reputation has grown considerably over the years. The specialist research centers range from Artificial Intelligence to Competitive Intelligence, including Information Security, Urban Studies, Southeast Asia Studies and Educational Development, etc.
Since the establishment of these research centers, the University has undertaken a dozen of research projects and many of them have been highly regarded on various levels. An outstanding example of this is The Security Isolation and Information Exchange System BCUGAP7710 developed by the Information Security Research Center, which has earned a national patent and has already been put on the market. Also remarkable is Mind Evolutionary Computation (MEC) proposed by the Artificial Intelligence Research Center, which was the first to put forward the concept in China. In order to learn from international research experts and enhance its own research capability, BCU actively hosts various forums and invites scholars as well as experts from around the world to participate. Hence, research quality has been greatly improved and the University reputation has grown considerably as well.
